Questions, answered

Things worth knowing.

Do you take utility and civils subcontract packages, or only direct private jobs?
Both. Utility, civils, surfacing and reactive repair work makes up the bulk of what we do — through principal contractors, framework partners and direct clients. EUSR and NRSWA are in date and we work to the operational standards expected on live utility and highway sites.
What qualifications and framework experience do you bring to utility work?
EUSR and NRSWA in date. Fifteen years on live utility and civils sites for the major framework partners — Thames Water, Affinity Water, Cadent, Openreach and Network Plus. Compliance, sequencing and reinstatement quality are the daily standard, not a box-tick.
Can you manage excavation, reinstatement and surfacing as one package?
Yes. Service excavation, Type 1 backfill, hot-mix reinstatement, asphalt surfacing and the smaller civils around them all sit under one scope of works — priced against the same site survey, run to the same programme. One contract instead of three trades to coordinate.
How quickly can you respond to emergency pothole repairs?
Four-hour callout target on emergency pothole work, day or night. First attendance may make safe, lay a temporary repair, or go straight to a permanent hot-mix patch — depends on the defect. Either way the client gets photos, scope and the next-step plan back the same day. No cold-fill bodging — it fails after the first frost.
Do you still take on residential driveways and pathways?
Yes — residential driveways and pathways are part of our service mix. New drives, resurfacing, paths and front-of-property work in tarmac, block paving and decorative shingle. Every job starts with a site visit and a written quote — never a guess from photos alone — covering levels, access and drainage from the start.
How do you price and quote?
Free, written and itemised after a site visit. Visits are usually within a few days, quicker for emergency reactive work. Quotes cover materials, labour, programme and any plant or specialist trades the job needs. Fixed price unless the scope changes — any changes are agreed in writing before extra work goes ahead.
Do you guarantee your work?
Five-year workmanship guarantee on residential driveways, patios and pathways. Commercial surfacing and utility reinstatement carry the inspection regime the client specifies — NRSWA defects period, framework SLAs and any contract-specific quality plan — agreed in writing before work starts.
